Job Summary: The Communications & Stewardship Coordinator supports the mission and ministry of the Church of Saint Bonaventure through effective parish communications and stewardship initiatives. This position is responsible for creating clear, consistent, and engaging parish‑wide messaging across print, digital, and in‑person platforms, while also coordinating stewardship efforts that invite parishioners to grow in their commitment of time, talent, and treasure.

Working closely with parish leadership, staff, and ministry leaders, the coordinator tells the story of our parish, strengthens participation in parish life, and supports sound stewardship practices rooted in gratitude and discipleship. This position requires availability during some evenings, weekends, and major parish events.

Starting salary range: $24 - $26/hr

General Responsibilities: Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the church. Their public behavior must not violate faith, morals or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese, such that it can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. It is expected that all employees will respect Catholic doctrine and religious practices.

Key Responsibilities Communications
  • Write, edit, and layout parish communications, including:
    • Weekly bulletin
    • Weekly parish email
    • Brochures, flyers, postcards, and forms
    • Annual Report and Stewardship Campaign
  • Maintain, and update the parish website with timely, accurate information.
  • Plan and execute postcard campaigns for Holy Week and Christmas.
  • Lead the development and ongoing stewardship of the parish brand, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and visual identity across all platforms.
  • Develop and implement a cohesive parish‑wide communications plan aligned with Saint Bonaventure’s mission and vision.
  • Manage parish advertising and media opportunities, as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain an organized library of photos, fonts, templates, and design assets.
  • Create and sustain an appropriate presence on parish social media platforms.
Stewardship
  • Promote parish-wide awareness of stewardship as a way of life rooted in gratitude, generosity, and discipleship.
  • Support cash‑handling best practices and assist with planning collections and special events.
  • Coordinate the Annual Stewardship Campaign and an Annual Report, including:
    • The October Time, Talent, and Treasure drive
    • Tracking financial and ministry commitments for planning and budgeting
    • Connecting new volunteers with ministry leaders
    • Coordinating timely and meaningful thank‑you communications
  • Prepare and distribute year‑end giving statements.
  • Support ministry volunteer recruitment through parish communications and tools such as Jot Form and Sign Up Genius .
  • Recruit, organize, and support a parish Stewardship Committee
Continuing Formation & Team Culture
  • Front desk hours are shared with the Mission Support & Youth Discipleship Coordinator to ensure consistent hospitality, continuity of service, and collaborative staff support. Provide a welcoming parish presence by staffing the front desk on Tues. & Wed. 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Open doors, greet visitors, answer phones, and provide accurate, friendly information (Mass times, sacraments, parish events).
  • Cross-train with Mission Support & Youth Discipleship Coordinator on recurring office tasks and customer-service type responsibilities in order to provide mutual support, and coverage.
  • Participate in bi‑monthly staff meetings, Archdiocesan meetings, and relevant workshops/classes related to position.
  • Seek opportunities for personal, spiritual and professional growth.
Other Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned. Be present where needed, recognize situations requiring additional effort, and contribute flexibly as parish needs evolve. This job description may be modified as parish needs or organizational structure change.
