The Minnesota Wind Chill Foundation is the official nonprofit foundation of the Minnesota Wind Chill, with a mission to empower youth through ultimate frisbee. We aim to break down barriers to participation by providing community-based programming that promotes physical health, teamwork, leadership, and life skills. We serve communities across Minnesota, with a focus on youth with limited access to structured athletic programming.

By partnering with schools, community education programs, and local nonprofits, we bring high-quality, engaging experiences directly to where youth live and learn. Our programming primarily introduces youth to ultimate frisbee in a fun environment while emphasizing social‑emotional learning, building confidence, and fostering a sense of belonging both on and off the field.

As our Program Growth VISTA, we are looking for someone who is passionate about youth development, community engagement, and building sustainable systems. Ideal candidates will bring strong communication, organizational, and relationship‑building skills, along with an interest in program development, outreach, and evaluation.

In this role, you will research community needs, design and expand programming, recruit coaches and volunteers, strengthen partnerships, and develop systems and resources that ensure long‑term impact.

As part of our organization, you will gain hands‑on experience working alongside a professional sports franchise, develop skills in nonprofit capacity building, and play a key role in scaling programs that create meaningful change. This is a unique opportunity to combine a passion for sports with purpose‑driven work that directly impacts youth and communities across Minnesota.

The VISTA at the Minnesota Wind Chill Foundation will serve as part of the 2026-27 Coach Across America VISTA cohort of 64 members. The Program Growth VISTA will expand our community ultimate frisbee programming, while building the systems and partnerships necessary for long‑term sustainability, resulting in increased scale and reach. They will support our community program development and delivery, increase our community programming footprint in the Twin Cities metro area, strengthen and expand our partnerships, and ensure we can continue empowering youth after their VISTA term.
