Position: House Advocate - PT Evenings

Description

House Advocate at Recovering Hope Treatment Center
Location: Mora, MN
Job Type: Part-Time (Evenings): 16 hours per week
Pay: $18.00 - $24.19 per hour, with additional differentials for weekend, evening, and overnight shifts! Pay based on experience.

Schedule: 3PM - 11PM - Friday's w/ every other weekend.

, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting women on their journey toward overcoming substance use disorders. This is your chance to contribute meaningfully while working in a supportive, dynamic environment.

Position Summary:

The House Advocate is responsible for supporting activities of clients, coordinating the necessary administrative tasks related to client care and acting as a representative of the treatment staff, providing health care services via medication administration, light maintenance and general cleaning of indoor and outdoor grounds, and meal preparation and clean up.

In addition, the House Advocate maintains a visible presence in the unit, circulates throughout the building and is alert to safety hazards and accountability of the clients.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Empower Clients: Support the recovery process by assisting clients with daily activities and offering guidance as they work toward their goals.
  • Provide Compassionate Care: Act as a positive role model, helping de-escalate challenging behaviors and providing emotional support.
  • Medication & Health Support: Administer medication, ensure client safety, and assist with medical documentation in partnership with our nursing team.
  • Maintain a Safe & Secure Environment: Keep the building secure, monitor client activity, and assist with intake and discharge processes.
  • Light Maintenance & Housekeeping: Help maintain the facility by performing light cleaning, basic repairs, and ensuring the grounds are tidy and welcoming.
  • Food Preparation: Cook and serve nutritious meals, maintain food stock, and ensure all kitchen areas are clean and safe.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be at least 18 years of age per licensure requirements pertaining to residential facilities
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to utilize and navigate computers, laptops, and/or tablets, to complete daily documentation or communication through email, an Electronic Medical Records System, or other company used programs.
  • Ability to pass med sign off
  • Current Servsafe Certification, training opportunity with ability to obtain.

Preferred

  • Trained Medication Aide certification through the State of Minnesota in good standing.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Card, training offered on-site.
  • Previous housekeeping and maintenance experience
  • Previous cook experience
  • Experience working with chemical dependency and mental health disorders

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently communicate with employees, parents, clients and other individuals with key relationships. This requires receiving and providing accurate information in writing or verbally, in these situations.
  • Frequently reach above shoulder height to reach necessary items, including supplies, medications, etc.
  • Frequently complete repetitive tasks.
  • Sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.
  • Frequently read and update medical records, prescriptions and medication bottles, medical orders, etc.
  • Frequently move around the office to access file cabinets, office machinery and supplies, etc.
  • Frequently grasp items to clean such as mops, brooms, brushes, etc.
  • Frequently push and pull up to 15 lbs while twisting to use items, such as the vacuum cleaner.
  • Frequently lift equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs from floor to shoulder height throughout the day.
  • Frequently crouch, stoop or bend to retrieve necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Frequently grasp items to prepare and cook meals, including spoons, knives, pans, etc.
  • Stand tall enough to reach equipment and supplies in storage areas.
