We're partnering with a global player within the US Adhesives market to recruit an experienced Principal Scientist / R&D Manager with deep expertise in Solvent-Based Acrylic Polymerization and Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSA).
This is a high-impact opportunity for a recognised technical leader who enjoys driving innovation, solving complex technical challenges and influencing the future direction of adhesive technologies.
Working across R&D, manufacturing and commercial teams, you'll lead the development of next-generation solvent-based acrylic polymers, taking new technologies from concept through to commercial production while acting as a key technical authority within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of innovative solvent-based acrylic polymers for PSA applications.
- Drive polymer design, formulation and free-radical polymerization projects.
- Lead scale-up activities from laboratory through pilot plant to commercial manufacture.
- Provide technical leadership across manufacturing, process optimisation and technology transfer.
- Support key customer development projects and solve complex application challenges.
- Mentor scientists and contribute to the wider technical strategy and innovation roadmap.
- Extensive experience in Solvent-Based Acrylic Polymerization
. - Deep knowledge of Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) chemistry
. - Proven experience leading R&D programmes from concept to commercialisation.
- Strong understanding of polymer chemistry, formulation and process scale-up.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations, process troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- A collaborative technical leader capable of influencing cross-functional teams.
