Security Officer; 2nd Shift

Position Summary

The Security Officer at Radisson Blu Mall of America will protect guests and employees, maintain security coverage, respond to emergencies, and uphold the hotel’s safety procedures. Duties include daily monitoring, incident investigation, key management, and guest interaction to ensure a secure, welcoming environment.

Hourly Wage: $18.00 – $22.00.

• Provide a safe and secure environment by implementing all security methods and procedures consistently.
• Ensure all employees follow safety rules and procedures.
• Take corrective action to improve safety of work areas.
• Communicate hazards with department heads and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Complete daily security logs and report incidents accurately.
• Monitor building video surveillance and respond to any activity.
• Inspect hotel regularly for security or safety problems and take needed actions.
• Keep management informed of significant problems or unusual matters.
• Understand emergency procedures for evacuation, fire, power failure, bomb threats, etc., and respond immediately.
• Process written reports involving security incidents and employee or customer accidents.
• Handle complaints, investigate incidents, and report on injuries, theft, assaults, lost property, vandalism, and other guest complaints.
• Review accident investigations to ensure accurate reporting.
• Secure all hotel entrances, exits, and key systems as per policy.
• Close outlets and secure meeting/exhibit rooms each night per post‑orders.
• Log and deliver all in‑house packages and monitor outgoing deliveries.
• Check vendors in and out and coordinate with leadership as required.
• Provide 100% guest satisfaction by delivering the Radisson experience with genuine hospitality.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum one year of security experience; military or law‑enforcement training is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook.
• Experience working in a high‑volume, customer‑service oriented environment.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to exceptional guest service.
• Adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Lift, pull, push up to 25 pounds.
• Squat, bend, kneel, twist; stand for extended periods.
• See, hear, speak, read, write legibly.
• Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl as needed.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking up to 8 hours a day; climb stairs and walk uneven terrain.
