As a Technician, you will provide exceptional customer service by working on material handling equipment at customer locations or at our branch shop. This role requires mechanical repairs to ensure equipment runs at full performance. Recent graduates from technical schools with automotive or diesel repair education are strongly encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Repair, diagnose, inspect, and maintain all material handling equipment for customer work orders assigned to you.
- Accept repair orders as assigned by Service Writer.
- Communicate with customers on diagnosed repairs, obtain approvals, and provide estimates when appropriate.
- Read work orders, observe trucks in operation to determine/malfunction or problems.
- Offer solutions to meet customer specifications.
- Submit work orders timely and record complete repair descriptions including correct model and serial number and hour‑meter reading.
- Obtain customer signatures and communicate repair status.
- Inspect protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices and make required adjustments.
- Lubricate moving parts and verify conformance to specifications.
- Maintain professional image of self, cleanliness of van and work area at customer site.
- Operate shop equipment and tools, notify Service Manager or Supervisor of safety issues or accidents immediately.
- Perform quality work quickly and professionally, promote marketing efforts for parts, service, equipment and rentals.
- Complete service forms and submit to Service department daily via work tablet.
- Act out the company’s core value – Safety Always – at all times in all places.
Skills and Abilities
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record; CDL may be required.
- Forklift repair experience desired; intermediate maintenance experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret safety manuals, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
- Strong verbal communication with customers and employees.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Provide own tools immediately; annual tool incentive is given.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- 3+ years of mechanic experience and/or education related to the position.
- Basic knowledge of computer and internet software.
- Pay: $23–36 per hour

- Visual acuity requirements for inspection of small defects, small parts, and operating machines.

Inside and outside, extreme cold or heat, noise, hazards (moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, dust, mists), narrow aisles or passageways, exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
