HPC & AI Performance Engineer

Job Overview

HPE is seeking an HPC & AI Performance Engineer to work on both standard and scientific application benchmarks on HPE’s supercomputing platforms. This role is hybrid; you will work onsite at an HPE office average 2 days a week.

• Complete long and short‑term benchmark projects using HPE’s HPC systems.
• Analyze HPC architecture, performance estimation, and provide performance assessments for future HPE and competitor systems.
• Provide technical analysis of HPC I/O and application performance/based benchmark tests.
• Identify solutions, define action plans, and coordinate delivery of benchmark enhancements.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of HPE and competitor HPC products via training and collaboration with internal and external experts.
• Apply HPC performance‑optimization techniques (parallel processing, memory management, code profiling) to deliver benchmark results on HPE’s HPC and AI systems.

• Experience with storage benchmarks, profiling tools, or software for HPC systems.
• Knowledge of processor, accelerator, memory, and software technologies and their impact on HPC benchmarks.
• Understanding of parallel programming techniques and algorithms.
• Proficiency with HPC compilers (C++, C, Fortran), OpenMP, MPI & MPI-IO, Python, and Linux scripting.
• Experience in GPU programming (CUDA, HIP) and performance profiling/debugging on Linux.
• Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; mastery of English required.
• MS/PhD in a technical field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, etc.) (PhD preferred).
