Position Summary
The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies, Federal and State regulations, and deliver all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world‑class customer service experience.
Duties & Responsibilities- Inspect truck and trailer for defects to ensure safe operation. Load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck; unload products at commercial and residential job sites.
- Deliver materials to assigned areas, prioritizing personal safety and safety of others.
- Maintain required records in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment. Lift heavy building materials up to 100 lbs. for load/unload. Provide excellent customer service and professional attitude.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). Class B required;
Class A strongly preferred. - Clear three‑year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team; lead, execute, delegate as needed and collaborate to get the job done.
- Strong integrity, servant‑leadership principles, and inclusive mindset.
- Proactive, self‑managed, and results‑driven.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Remain in a stationary position while driving 40% of the time.
- Lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
- Constantly move materials weighing up to 80 lbs. during unloading from a flatbed or boom vehicle.
- Judge distances while delivering materials and operating boom.
- Communicate accurately with management and coworkers.
- Work in an outdoor environment while making deliveries.
- Prioritize job sites and deadlines.
- Manage stress related to customer deadlines.
- Multitask.
- Receive and follow instructions.
- Communicate solutions quickly when problems arise.
- Exercise high sound judgment.
Base salary range: $23.51 to $29.90 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on location, education, training, and/or experience. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs, performance‑based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses.
