Senior Data Center Construction Project Manager

This opportunity is with an established General Contractor that specializes in converting existing buildings into complex industrial facilities and is looking to expand further into the Critical Facilities Market. The client is applying its expertise to brownfield data center projects – converting an existing building to a hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center. • Maintain liaison with various contractors and vendors to manage day‑to‑day activities that impact project delivery.
• Ensure that all day‑to‑day project responsibilities are met by contractors and vendors.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, negotiate contracts with vendors as needed, and create and manage project schedules.
• Put together project plans, including sizing, costs, budgets, scheduling, timeline, and change order management.
• Assist with reporting and RFPs to contractors.
• Deliver Built‑to‑Suit projects with a heavy emphasis on value engineering.
• Drive company standards uniformly as they relate to project delivery by all participants on all projects.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interests while maintaining good client relationships.
• Represent the company in project meetings.
• Act as key liaison with managers of all company departments.
• Maintain all logs required to track project progress.

• BA/BS degree or equivalent.
• Experience managing data center construction projects as an owner or general contractor.
• Experience managing budgets.
• 5‑10+ years of relevant experience in the data center construction industry.
• Active membership in professional organizations such as AFCOM, ASHRAE, 7x24 Exchange, PTC, Datacenterdynamics, Uptime, iMasons, Bisnow, etc.
• Client‑facing, client‑relationship, and client‑management skills.
• Familiarity with the design process of building systems for data center and mission‑critical projects.
• Solid construction project management experience.
• Effective communicator—email, phone, and face‑to‑face.
• Ability to work independently.
• Travel as needed to project sites.
• Solid administrative skills.
• Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel, P6 Oracle Primavera, AutoCAD (a plus).
• Previous military or veteran experience in electrical or mechanical fields is a huge plus.
