Columbia-Montour Area Vocational Technical School (CMAVTS) is seeking a highly skilled professional to instruct the high school Collision Repair Technology program. The individual hired to this position must have at least four years of full-time, paid experience in the collision repair field and hold appropriate industry credentials. Successful candidates will be required to pursue and obtain EPA 6H certification. PA vocational teaching certification is preferred.

Candidates without teaching certification must complete a certification program through Penn State University or an approved accredited institution.

Students in the Collision Repair Technology program are instructed in a variety of skills and competency areas, including:

  • Auto body design and construction
  • Damage analysis
  • Welding and cutting
  • Refinishing
  • Fuel and exhaust
  • Plastic Repair
  • Customer Relations
  • Safety

Students will have the opportunity to earn industry credentials prior to graduation, including:

  • Mobile Air Condition (MACS)
  • SP2 Safety
  • I-Car Certifications (24 possible)
  • PA Skills Certification (NOCTI)

All teachers are responsible for lesson planning, maintaining accurate records of student progress and grades, creating a positive classroom learning environment, and managing classroom behavior. Technical teachers also develop connections with local businesses and external organizations to establish an Advisory Committee and create internship and job placement opportunities.

CMAVTS is a comprehensive technical high school, offering career and academic instruction to approximately 600 students from 6 sending school districts across Columbia and Montour Counties. We offer a full athletic program, a wide variety of student organizations and clubs, and cooperative education opportunities.
