Do you love working with preschool-age children and creating meaningful learning experiences? We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Preschool Educator to guide a busy, joyful classroom of curious 3-4-year-olds. In this role, you will lead the daily classroom activities, plan engaging lessons, and support each child’s individual development- without formal supervisory responsibilities.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to take on a leadership role in the classroom while focusing deeply on children’s growth and the joy of teaching.
What You'll Do:- Lead the daily classroom routine and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Create engaging learning opportunities across all domains—social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative.
- Partner with classroom aides and assistants to maintain a positive, well‑organized learning environment.
- Conduct developmental assessments and maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, attendance, anecdotals, and reports.
- Hold parent/teacher conferences and maintain regular communication with families through daily updates, phone calls, newsletters, and take‑home notes.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and co-workers, following the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) framework.
- Ensure the classroom environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning, keeping materials in good repair and stored safely.
- Support licensing and quality standards, including DHS, STARS, and NAEYC requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and annual professional development activities.
- Assist with daily routines such as handwashing, transitions, and health and safety practices.
- Step in to support classroom needs as required, helping maintain smooth daily operations.
- Loves working with preschoolers and understands their developmental milestones.
- Has strong classroom leadership skills without seeking a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrates warmth, patience, creativity, and excellent communication skills.
- Can lift up to 50 lbs and engage in daily physical activity such as kneeling, bending, and sitting on the floor.
- Holds or is willing to obtain required clearances, CPR/First Aid certification, and physical.
- Lead your own classroom while working in a supportive, collaborative environment.

A high school diploma or a GED and 30 credits in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field;
OR a high school diploma or a GED, and 15 credits in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and one year of experience with children;
OR a high school diploma or GED and two years experience working with children.
