Position Description Summary

Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for temporary faculty positions (full‑time one semester, part‑time one semester or part‑time academic year) as needs arise in the Department of K‑12, HPE, Middle Level & Secondary Education.

Duties

Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to either teach department courses and/or supervise student teachers and/or field experiences.

Positions may be located at any of the University’s campuses with an expectation to serve a multi‑campus community.

Faculty may be assigned to provide instruction through distance education.

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree with experience teaching in K‑12 schools related to the discipline associated with the course instructions or supervision need for the position.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree with at least two years of experience teaching and/or supervising student teachers and/or clinical teaching experiences in the discipline associated with the position.

Background Clearance

Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of the background clearances mandated by Act 153 of 2014 and Board of Governors Policy 2014‑01‑A:
Protection of Minors. Applicants must complete the Pennsylvania State Police and Justifacts portion of the clearance process prior to their start date, and the remaining PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance within the first 90 days of employment.
