DoD Skill Bridge Program
The DoD Skill Bridge program allows eligible service members to complete hands on civilian training during their final 180 days of active-duty service. Participants join Geisinger on a permissive temporary duty assignment, gaining valuable experience that supports career transition while contributing to work that improves lives and strengthens communities. The DoD Skill Bridge program is open to service members of all ranks, both enlisted and officer.
While participating in Skill Bridge, individuals remain on active duty, continue to receive military compensation, and retain full military benefits. Participation is mission dependent, and approval must be granted by the service member's unit Commander before any Skill Bridge agreement is established with Geisinger.
