Position SummaryCommercial Stainless is seeking a dependable, mechanically capable Installation Technician to join our installation team.
The Installation Technician will travel to customer jobsites and install custom stainless-steel equipment, millwork, serving counters, solid-surface products, and related components. This position requires hands-on construction ability, careful attention to detail, professional communication, and a willingness to travel regularly.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and seeing a project through to completion. Installation, construction, carpentry, millwork, or mechanical experience is preferred, but we will consider candidates who demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, dependability, and the ability to learn.
Primary Responsibilities- Travel to commercial jobsites throughout the United States.
- Load, transport, unload, stage, and install custom-fabricated products.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, floor plans, dimensions, and installation instructions.
- Install and assemble stainless-steel equipment, millwork, serving counters, solid-surface products, trim, panels, hardware, and related components.
- Accurately measure, level, align, fasten, fit, and adjust products in the field.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, adhesives, fasteners, and other installation materials safely and correctly.
- Coordinate work with customers, general contractors, other trades, and Commercial Stainless project managers.
- Identify field conditions or discrepancies and help develop practical solutions.
- Communicate jobsite issues, missing information, damage, or additional work promptly.
- Protect finished products and surrounding customer property during installation.
- Complete installations according to drawings, quality standards, schedules, and customer expectations.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and installation materials in an orderly condition.
- Document completed work and outstanding items accurately.
- Follow company and jobsite safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment.
- Represent Commercial Stainless professionally while traveling and working at customer locations.
- Assist with shop or warehouse work when not assigned to an installation.
- Previous experience in commercial installation, construction, carpentry, millwork, cabinetry, equipment installation, mechanical work, or a related trade is preferred.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and work with fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read shop drawings and floor plans or the willingness and aptitude to learn.
- Mechanical ability and confidence using hand tools and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to jobsite conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and follow-through.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an installation crew.
- Professional communication and conduct when interacting with customers and other trades.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including overnight and extended trips.
- Willingness to work variable schedules when required by travel, jobsite access, or project deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
A successful Installation Technician will:
