Staff Accountant! Cincinnati, Oh

Base pay range

$60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Cincinnati, OH – Hybrid role, 2–3 days in office each week.

This position will be a key hire in the accounting and finance department of a fast‑growing startup. You will make an immediate impact by creating the accounting and finance processes and infrastructure, supporting both the insurance and software divisions, and automating existing processes. The company is expanding quickly and offers exciting opportunities for growth and development.

• Assist with the creation of the accounting infrastructure/systems and establish department processes and best practices
• Manage the recording of revenue, cost of revenue, and collection of cash
• Assist with treasury and cash management functions including vendor payments, invoicing, collection/tracking of customer balances, and creation of automated solutions
• Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Complete various local and municipal taxes and filings
• Help develop and maintain compliance with internal controls over financial reporting and operations
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, including automation and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–2 years of accounting or finance experience (internships, co‑ops, or full‑time roles)
• Basic understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the accounting function
