Job DescriptionThe B2B Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing collections activities for outstanding commercial accounts while maintaining positive customer relationships. This role will support accounts receivable operations by resolving billing issues, reducing delinquency, and partnering closely with internal teams to improve collection efforts.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience handling business-to-business collections in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Review open accounts and prioritize collection efforts to reduce outstanding balances
- Make collection calls and send collection emails in a professional and customer‑focused manner
- Provide customers with invoice copies and account documentation as requested
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment delays, and past‑due account issues
- Identify trends or recurring issues impacting collections and communicate findings to management
- Partner closely with lab General Managers and internal teams to review aging reports and improve collections performance
- Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities and customer communications
- Utilize Excel and accounting systems to track account activity, payment status, and collection efforts
- Support overall accounts receivable processes while maintaining strong customer service standards
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high‑volume environment
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in B2B collections required
- Experience supporting multi‑site or multi‑location collections environments preferred
- Experience resolving customer billing issues and managing delinquent accounts required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Technical
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Experience using accounting software systems required
- Ability to interpret accounting‑related documents and financial information
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable and collections processes
