Overview

The number of positions varies depending on department needs and there is no guarantee that an open position currently exists. Appointments are renewed based on departmental need and teaching performance.

Classes may be day or evening. Rank and compensation are based on experience and academic credentials.

The Media Communications & Technology Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Applied Media Communications Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term as needed. The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio, fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting.

We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 5,100 students. We value excellent teaching and personalized student support to help students achieve their goals, whether the goal is to enter a career or to continue education. The Media Communications & Technology Department (formerly Electronic Media) offers the Applied Media Communications AAS degree, one-year certificates, and technical courses spanning design, photography, video, audio, animation, motion graphics, interactive design, and web. The department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and supports students who enter directly into media careers or transfer to media production baccalaureate programs such as UC’s College-Conservatory of Music or College of Arts & Sciences.

This part-time faculty member will teach freshman- and sophomore-level courses across a range of media disciplines, including:

• Media Design Foundations (graphic design principles, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Photography (camera operation, lighting, digital post-production, Adobe Photoshop)
• Video Production (camera operation, lighting, editing, Adobe Premiere Pro)
• Audio Production (recording, mixing, sound design, Pro Tools or similar DAWs)
• Web Design I & II (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Git Hub, frameworks, content management systems)
• Animation (2D/3D animation, motion design, Adobe Animate, Toon Boom, Maya/Blender)
• Motion Graphics (visual storytelling, typography, Adobe After Effects)
• Job preparation (professional practice, portfolio development, emerging technologies)
