Service Center Representative
We are looking for a Service Center Representative to provide excellent service to callers regarding claims for multiple lines of business and to expedite the claims application process.
Primary PurposeProvide excellent service to callers regarding claims, expedite the claims application process, document all calls, resolve issues on one call, and direct calls to the appropriate escalation path.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Act as the primary liaison with callers, following client specifications to assist with questions and solve problems related to the claims application and servicing processes.
- Educate and inform customers via multiple communication channels about required documentation, time frames, payment information, and claim status.
- Document all required details of the call in a concise, professional manner.
- Enter verbal and written application information accurately into the claims management system.
- Assign new claims to the appropriate claims handler.
- Direct customer calls to the appropriate contact or escalates to Service Center Specialist/management as needed.
- Attend scheduled work hours and perform other duties as assigned.
- Support the organization’s quality program(s).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year of customer service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Inbound call center experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Understanding of claims management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
- Strong organizational skills (multitasking, managing multiple clients and systems).
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team or independently.
- Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies.
- Reasonable accommodations considered when applicable.
- Physical: computer keyboarding, travel as required.
- Mental: clear thinking, judgment, discretion, stress tolerance, multi-priority handling, deadline meeting.
- Auditory/Visual: hearing, vision and talking.
Salary: starting at $19.00 per hour (range varies by factors such as skill set and location).
