Overview
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a full time Non-Tenure Track Instructor-Clinical position for the Nursing Department, beginning August 15, 2026.
Essential Functions- Supervise nursing students in each clinical course involving delivery of nursing care.
- Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of course and teaching strategies.
- Assumes leadership in course planning and development.
- Evaluate student classroom and clinical performance with appropriate documentation.
- Post and keep office hours convenient to students and be available by appointment.
- Inform and counsel students regarding academic and clinical progress.
- Maintain clinical agency relationships.
- Participate in the selection and evaluation of clinical facilities.
- Determine clinical learning experiences and client selection.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings.
- Be responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum and program.
- Be knowledgeable regarding the Reappointment and Promotion (RP) criteria, review data for RP decisions; express an informed, evaluative judgment regarding RP decisions.
- Participate on department committees and contribute to accomplishing the functions of the committee.
- Attend UC Blue Ash College faculty meetings.
- Participate in college and/or university governance by being appointed or elected to committees.
- Maintain knowledge and clinical skills in areas of teaching.
- Engage in professional activities as outlined in the Reappointment, Promotion and Tenure criteria of the nursing department.
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Unencumbered license to practice Nursing in Ohio.
- Experience for at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.
- A specialization in medical-surgical nursing, with a willingness to teach across settings is required.
- The faculty member must be able to safely and competently push, pull, lift and transfer adult and pediatric patients to chair, commode or other locations, as well as operate health-related equipment.
- The faculty member must be able to roll a weak or immobile patient from side to side in order to provide care, treatment, or administer medication.
- The faculty member must possess the manual sensitivity and dexterity necessary to operate health equipment and perform certain skills requiring fine motor coordination such as dressing changes, catheterizations, medication administration, pulse assessment, etc.
- The faculty member must possess the visual acuity necessary to read, compute and identify objects correctly.
- The faculty member must be able to communicate effectively with others. A faculty member must be able to interpret environmental cues and both audio and visual stimuli.
- The faculty member must be CPR‑certified at the level of Health Care Provider and be able to competently begin and administer CPR.
- The faculty member must be able to engage in clinical activities for a sustained time in the laboratory and clinical environments.
