Job OverviewThe Department of Chemistry invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 15, 2026. This position is for the academic year only and is not eligible for the tenure track; however, it could be extended into a second year if there is department need and available budget.
Essential Functions- Teach an average of 12 contact hours per semester of lecture and/or lab courses for majors and nonmajors. Teaching responsibilities include general chemistry courses for science majors, general, organic, and biochemistry (GOB) courses for allied health students, and general education chemistry courses for non‑science majors. Courses may be assigned during day or evening.
- Participate in ongoing professional development in the discipline of chemistry, chemical education, and/or scholarship of teaching and learning.
- Participate in departmental service such as committee involvement or new course design.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or closely related field with 18 credit hours of graduate level coursework in chemistry.
- One academic year of college-level teaching experience (as the primary instructor) in chemistry or closely related field.

Compensation and BenefitsSalary Information: $51,000 - $54,000
