Public Health & Exercise Science Adjunct Faculty responsibilities include teaching associate degree courses in public health and exercise science such as personal health, nutrition and health, consumer health, physical activity across the lifespan, adult and aging health, mental health issues, stress reduction, and intro to epidemiology. Annual adjunct appointments are contracted on a yearly basis, covering the period from August 15, 2026 through August 31, 2027, with potential renewal based on departmental enrollment needs.
Adjuncts are expected to teach a minimum of 18 credit hours per academic year, with the option to teach up to 21 credit hours for additional compensation.
Adjuncts are eligible for health insurance plans, including PPO and HSA options. They also receive four credit hours of tuition remission per semester while teaching. Responsibilities include using the Canvas course management system, holding regular office hours, promptly replying to student communications, and participating in at least one professional development workshop per year. Classes may be offered day or evening, in‑person or online.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- On a part‑time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
- Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
- Engage in ancillary activities supporting their responsibilities.
- Review and respond in a timely manner to all university‑related and student communications.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion and Education, Community Health, Health Sciences, Exercise Science/Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
- CHES/MCHES Certification preferred.
- A minimum of one (1) year of successful classroom teaching experience in the course content area.
