Onsite. Current UC employees must apply internally via Success Factors.
Adjunct faculty must be able to teach mathematics courses ranging from developmental (pre‑college) to calculus. Courses may be offered day, evening, or online. Adjunct faculty should be available to teach in‑person. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
Adjunct faculty members will be expected to:
- Use the course management system (Canvas) and any textbook‑specific systems.
- Hold regular office hours to meet with students.
- Participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.
- On a part‑time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
- Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
- Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of responsibilities.
- Review and respond in a timely manner to all university‑related and student communications.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- A Master’s Degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
- OR:
At least 18 credit hours of graduate‑level coursework in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (transcripts required).
- Previous teaching experience is required.
- Knowledge of issues in math education and classroom technology.
- Experience teaching in a college setting.
