- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a direct electrical engineering role in Research & Development.
- Experience translating high-level concepts/ideas, user needs and business objectives into clear, actionable engineering requirements and specifications.
- Experience with analog and digital circuitry design and development.
- Experience with embedded electrical design.
- PCBA ideation, concept generation, design, prototyping, manufacturing, and troubleshooting experience.
- Demonstrated ability to debug and test electrical systems using oscilloscopes and other test tools.
- Detailed understanding of board-level printed circuit design and signal integrity issues.
- Demonstrated ability working across subject areas with internal and external partners.
- Strong collaboration, proven technical leadership capabilities, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience formulating and coordinating different engineering approaches to test hypotheses, such as hand calculations, computational modeling and simulation, empirical testing (benchtop and in vivo) and method development as appropriate.
- Experience with rigid-flex PCBAs and flex PCBAs.
- Experience with integration of motors in electrical systems.
- Knowledge and how to control DC motors (e.g. brushed, brushless, servo, etc.).
- Experience with various communication protocols (e.g. Bluetooth, SPI, I2C, USB, UART, USART, etc.).
- Demonstrated proficiency in Cadence and/or Altium for PCB layout.
- Design for electromagnetic compatibility and immunity, electrically fast transients, electrostatic discharge, etc.
- Experience with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-2-2 etc.
- Design for test, manufacture, and assembly.
- Experience with various programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Python, Labview, etc.).
- Design control experience.
