• Mechanical Development Equipment Expertise Ability to operate, guide, and troubleshoot mechanical development and lab testing equipment.
• Measurement & Inspection Skills Proficiency in basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and validation of technician collected data.
• Tool & Gage Management Knowledge of tool/gage tracking, calibration intervals, labeling, storage, and readiness for engineering studies.
• Data Recording & Spreadsheet Management Strong skills in Excel for structured , template creation, review of test entries, and report generation.
• Good Documentation Practices (GDP) Ensures accurate, traceable, and compliant documentation across lab logs, safety records, equipment checklists, and reports.
• Lab Safety, EHS & Chemical Handling Understanding of lab safety rules, PPE, chemical handling, storage, spills, and ability to oversee safety/chemical audits.
• Pilot Floor Workflow Oversight Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute mechanical/functional test workflows for prototype surgical device evaluations.
• Cross Functional Collaboration Ability to work with engineers, R&D, quality, tissue lab teams, and support functions to meet study timelines.
• Problem Solving & Troubleshooting Skill in identifying equipment/test issues and providing quick resolution or escalation to engineering teams.
• Technician Training & Coordination Ability to train and mentor technicians on equipment operation, measurement, documentation, and safety practices.
• Exposure to materials analysis techniques (preferred)
Salary Range $70,000-$80,000 year
