Pay Rate: $45,760 to $56,160
Type: Full-time
Focus: Customer support + hands-on electronics troubleshooting and repair
OverviewThis role combines customer-facing technical support with hands-on electronic troubleshooting and repair. The technician will work directly with customers to diagnose issues, guide them through basic fixes, and perform in-house repairs when products are returned.
This position requires more than soldering ability — the ideal candidate understands how electronic components function within a circuit and can explain both the issue and the repair clearly to customers without causing frustration.
We are seeking someone who values long-term stability, takes pride in their work, and enjoys helping customers understand technical solutions.
Responsibilities- Provide technical support to customers via phone, guiding them through basic troubleshooting and simple fixes
- Diagnose returned electronic products and perform component-level troubleshooting
- Repair circuit boards, including soldering and replacing components such as resistors, capacitors, and ICs
- Analyze circuit behavior to identify failed components (not manufacturing defects)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Clearly explain repair findings and solutions to customers who follow up after service
- Communicate technical information in a calm, clear, and customer-friendly manner
- Document issues, repairs, and resolutions accurately
- Associate degree (2-year) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field
- OR equivalent electronics experience gained through military service
- Strong understanding of basic electronic principles (e.g., how resistors, capacitors, and circuits function)
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronic circuits at the component level
- Soldering experience, including removal and installation of small electronic components and ICs
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
- Strong verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Military electronics background (avionics, communications, radar, etc.)
- Experience with consumer electronics, receivers, or similar electronic systems
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, repair, or service environment
- Familiarity with customer support or ticketing systems
- Proven employment stability (longer tenures preferred over frequent job changes)
- Someone who understands how and why circuits fail, not just how to solder
- A technician who can explain technical issues clearly to non-technical customers
- A calm, patient communicator who does not frustrate customers
- A long-term team member interested in building a career, not hopping roles
