Our client, a global leader in retail and digital commerce
, is seeking a Senior Advanced Software Engineering Manager to lead the development and delivery of mission-critical software solutions supporting Promotions within Merchandising.

This role is responsible for managing multiple engineering teams (including 3–5 direct reports and 20+ contractors) and delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions in a high-transaction environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with strong people leadership skills and the ability to influence across Product, Architecture, and Business stakeholders.

• Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams across the full SDLC: analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
• Own delivery across multiple product domains and large-scale initiatives, translating complex business requirements into sound architectural solutions
• Provide technical leadership and consulting, identifying innovative uses of technology to support business strategy
• Partner closely with Product Management to prioritize, scope, and plan delivery milestones
• Act as a subject matter expert for the platforms and capabilities your teams deliver
• Drive change management and operational excellence to reduce performance and production incidents
• Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and third-party partners
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery with transparent communication on progress and risks
• Oversee hiring, performance management, coaching, and professional development of associates
• Monitor system performance and lead resolution of production incidents, including 24/7 support coverage as needed
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, processes, and team effectiveness

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• 8+ years of experience managing technical teams and/or extended staff
• 5+ years of experience supporting eCommerce, retail systems, or high-volume transactional platforms
• Proven experience leading large technology initiatives from concept through delivery
• Strong administrative, project management, and people leadership skills
• Track record of delivering solutions on time and within budget
• Strong communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels
• Experience managing teams with diverse technical skill sets
• Working knowledge of multiple programming languages and frameworks
• Practical experience with Agile software development and delivery

• CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices
• Cloud platforms and services (Azure preferred), including AKS, ADF, and authentication/authorization
• Agile tooling such as Git Hub, JIRA, Confluence, Harness, Helm, and Rancher
• Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform)
• Data engineering experience with Databricks, Delta Tables, and Medallion architecture
• Experience managing direct reports in large, matrixed organizations
