About the Role
Our client, a national leader in retail technology and digital transformation
, is seeking an Advanced Security Engineer to help design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade security architectures that protect critical systems, applications, and customer data.
This role plays a key part in strengthening the organization’s overall security posture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enabling secure innovation across cloud, infrastructure, and application environments. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to lead and mentor within a complex enterprise environment.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise security architectures across identity, cloud, network, and application domains
- Oversee Identity & Access Management (IAM), cloud security, cryptography, logging and alerting, security operations, and digital forensics
- Guide implementation of network and system security controls, ensuring compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies and procedures
- Monitor and manage security systems including firewalls, IDS/IPS, malware protection, and cryptographic platforms
- Analyze server, firewall, and network logs to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalous behavior
- Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident analysis
- Manage vulnerability scanning and oversee penetration testing activities; document findings and remediation plans
- Ensure the security of databases and data transfers across internal and external systems
- Develop, update, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance
- Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security technologies to improve enterprise defenses
- Communicate security risks, incidents, and initiatives to key technical and business stakeholders
- Coach and mentor junior and mid-level security engineers, promoting best practices and skill development

What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in information security, security engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Hands-on experience with one or more scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Ruby, Shell)
- Proven ability to design and build scalable, high-volume, low-latency systems in complex environments
- Advanced knowledge of network and web protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, BGP, routing protocols)
- Strong understanding of enterprise security architecture, threat modeling, and risk management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Skills
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience with large enterprise or highly regulated environments
- Exposure to cloud security frameworks and modern Dev Sec Ops practices
- Leadership or mentoring experience within a security engineering team
