Role SummaryThe Windows Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, and supporting Microsoft Windows server environments. This role ensures the availability, performance, security, and reliability of Windows-based infrastructure while supporting operational requirements, patching, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and support Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning for Windows infrastructure.
- Manage Active Directory services, including user accounts, group policies, and access controls.
- Support patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation for Windows systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and performance issues.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery processes to support business continuity.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support enterprise initiatives.
- Maintain system documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Support audit and compliance activities by providing technical evidence and documentation.
- Participate in after-hours or on-call support as required for critical incidents or maintenance activities.
- Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows-based infrastructure services.
- Experience with system monitoring, patch management, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery practices.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional infrastructure and support teams.
- Experience in enterprise or regulated IT environments.
- Exposure to security best practices for Windows systems.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms and infrastructure automation tools.
- Relevant Microsoft or infrastructure certifications.
