The ideal candidate is responsible for design input, fabrication, modification, and maintenance of precision tooling, fixtures, gauges, and work holding devices that support aerospace manufacturing operations. This role requires a highly skilled individual capable of working independently from engineering documentation, holding tight tolerances, and supporting continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced AS9100 manufacturing environment. The Toolmaker collaborates closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Production teams to help ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable processes

• Set up and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, and all manual toolroom equipment to manufacture fixtures, gauges, work holding devices, and occasional customer parts as required.
• Independently machine components from prints, process sheets, and travelers while holding tight tolerances and ensuring safety and maximum efficiency.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements.
• Inspect tooling and finished components to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, optical comparators, and other quality instruments.
• Work directly with engineers and machine operators on tooling development, process improvements, and shop floor optimization projects.
• Assist in managing, maintaining, and improving the company’s Tooling and Fixturing Database in coordination with Engineering and Operations.
• Use hand and machine tools to assemble, repair, modify, and maintain gauges, jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to support product development and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives.
• Diagnose tooling and fixturing issues, troubleshoot root causes, and implement effective repairs or improvements.
• File, fit, and finish work pieces using appropriate hand tools to ensure proper function, fit, and surface finish.

• 8+ Years of manual machining, CNC machining, and Programming experience are required.
• Proven experience in Tooling and Fixturing fabrication and maintenance.
• Proficient in reading complex customer drawings, specifications, and sketches with multiple views and sections.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately measure and perform in-process and final inspections throughout the tooling build process.
• Skilled in the use of calipers, micrometers, surface plate height gauges, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and gauge pins.
• Experience working in an AS9100 aerospace manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Experience with Solid Works and CAM software packages is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Compensation is commensurate with experience.
