Legrand invites applications for a Manufacturing Associate I position in the Audio Video Division, located in Blue Ash, OH. The role involves performing light assembly, machining, and packaging operations while maintaining quality, efficiency, and inventory control.
Responsibilities- Perform light assembly and/or basic machining operations according to work assignment description and scheduling.
- Follow production and quality procedures, reviewing prints and checking materials for defects.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings to perform basic assembly and machining operations.
- Understand and execute verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Inspect work to validate quality and accuracy.
- Transport products to the correct location using proper material handling methods.
- Monitor and replenish raw materials as required for the operation.
- Complete all documentation and electronic data updates as required.
- Prepare and package units for shipment.
- Assist with other duties within the department and/or other workstations/departments when necessary.
- Maintain workstation according to the 5S procedure, including clean‑up responsibilities.
- Perform work at or above pre‑established performance objectives.

- Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries; cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations.

- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Basic mechanical aptitude, math, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to operate basic machining posts, saws, paint sprayers, and hoists.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting assembly drawings, blueprints, BOMs, and associated procedures.
- Experience using measurement tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools (hand drills, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.).
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasks.
- Ability to identify and communicate basic process improvements.
- Team orientation and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Decisiveness and reliability; attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Knowledge of lean principles such as 5S and Kanban.
- High School diploma or GED (preferred).
- Previous manufacturing experience (preferred).
Job Requirements
- Flexibility to work extra hours when needed, including weekends.
- Stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated movements; use of vibrating/pneumatic tools; overhead and outstretched reaching; bending/twisting/stooping; kneeling/squatting; lift/carry up to 70 lbs, sometimes up to 100 lbs; occasional lifting requirement may not exceed 40 lbs.
- Steel‑toed shoes required.
- Production/warehouse environment (no air conditioning).
