Our client, a global leader in retail and technology innovation, is seeking an Advanced Software Engineer – Golang (Tech Lead) to support their Next-Gen POS Fuel team
.

This role will lead the design, development, and modernization of scalable, enterprise-grade software solutions that power critical retail fuel systems. You will translate enterprise technology strategy into execution, guide architectural direction, and ensure solutions align with long-term strategic objectives.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, architectural depth, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality, scalable Golang-based software solutions
• Drive architecture discussions and execute development aligned to approved enterprise designs
• Translate technology strategy into roadmap execution supporting enterprise initiatives
• Lead modernization efforts, introducing innovative technologies and scalable design approaches
• Develop migration strategies from current to future-state architecture aligned with capital planning cycles
• Present architectural recommendations including cost/benefit and risk analysis to leadership
• Identify gaps, risks, and performance issues across the technology environment
• Mentor engineers on best practices, design patterns, and architectural principles
• Promote reuse through shared libraries, frameworks, and reusable components
• Author and review architectural artifacts including system diagrams, interface specifications, and design documentation

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend development expertise
• Experience leading architecture discussions and driving technical direction
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture standards and modernization strategies
• Experience with system migrations and cloud-native development
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Experience in retail, POS, or fuel systems environments
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Dev Ops and CI/CD pipeline experience
