Job Purpose & Summary
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for accurately maintaining financial records, complying with company policies and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, reconciling bank account statements, balancing ledger reports, and working with the assistant controller to produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (profit and loss statement, cash flow statement, balance sheet, etc.). In addition, assisting with various other tasks based on business need such as invoicing, budget maintenance, mining and analyzing data for financial reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Enter accounting information into financial, ledger, and business logs.
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage fixed assets and depreciation.
- Reconcile bank account statements.
- Assist in the preparation of preliminary and final monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain federal and state income tax accounts and assist in gathering information to file tax returns with the tax accounting firm.
- Assist with gathering and preparing information for filing tax returns.
- Prepare and complete daily cash reconciliation.
- Assist in entering and paying invoices.
- Complete the month end close out process.
- Complete intercompany bank transfers.
- Complete weekly positive pay upload to bank.
- Maintain and reconcile the petty cash box.
- Knowledge of other position duties within the finance/accounting team, cross‑train and support as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of one year of accounting experience.
- Solid knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.).
- Demonstrated analytical abilities to help drive robust financial discussions.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Advanced Excel skills) and ERP system.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- High performer and problem solver that is a self‑starter with personal accountability and follow-through.
Physical Requirements
- No travel.
- Desk and computer work required.
