The Assistant Manager role at Old Navy in Blue Springs, MO is a full-time, on-site position focused on leading store operations and supporting the management team. This role oversees daily activities on the sales floor, including supervising associates, driving customer service standards, and ensuring merchandise is well-presented and stocked. The Assistant Manager helps execute sales and promotional strategies, monitors store performance metrics, and collaborates on scheduling and labor management to meet business goals.
Day-to-day responsibilities include coaching and developing team members, resolving customer concerns, and upholding operational procedures related to cash handling, safety, and loss prevention. This position works closely with the Store Manager to maintain a positive, engaging store culture that reflects Old Navy’s brand values.
- Retail leadership experience, including supervising teams, delegating tasks, and providing performance feedback.
- Strong customer service, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills to create an outstanding in-store experience.
- Experience with basic business operations such as sales tracking, inventory management, and cash-handling procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Comfort with using point-of-sale systems and basic digital tools to support store operations and reporting.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in retail.
- Previous retail or customer-facing experience preferred; high school diploma or equivalent desired.
