Senior Maintanence Technician

Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Senior Maintanence Technician. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.

Job Summary:

Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Troubleshoots breakdowns, diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, detects and replaces defective control modules. Performs complex wiring assignments. Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines and equipment.

Repairs and maintains physical structures using hand tools and power tools. Provides technical assistance to maintenance workers and helpers

Compensation: $29-34/ hour and is based on the candidate's experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Installs, alters, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring systems, fixtures, transformers, and other electrical equipment.
2. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
3. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
4. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
5. Performs preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications.
6. Repairs, alters and maintains a variety of tools and equipment.
7. Lubricates and cleans parts.
8. Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers and supervisor to diagnose malfunction.
9. Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
10. Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
11. Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
12. Repairs and maintains HVAC systems and electrical heating units.
13. Makes related adjustments and calibration.
14. Moves, installs and adjusts fixtures, motors and other electrical/mechanical equipment.
15. Adheres to safety practices and procedures.
16. Follows procedures as defined by Fike policies, procedures and ISO
9001 requirements.
17. Repairs and maintains forktrucks, electron beam welders,laser cutting, laser marking, robot welders, x-ray equipment, and CNC equipment.
18. Initiates requisitions for parts.

Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or a General Educational Development Diploma (GED). Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions, sketches, diagrams and engineered drawings. Thorough knowledge of electrical trade, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used, and applicable electrical codes. Thorough knowledge of mechanical and facilities repair and maintenance. Five years of maintenance trade. Completion of apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Preferred:
Seven plus years experience as a maintenance electrician and/or maintenance mechanic.
