CDL Operator-Dump Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating an assigned commercial dump truck in compliance with DOT and company safety policies, including completing thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly reporting any defects or maintenance needs. The role loads, secures, and unloads materials using required safety procedures, follows assigned route plans and delivery schedules from dispatch, and verifies delivery details such as quantities, documentation, and locations.
The driver maintains accurate logs and required paperwork, including manifests and inspection records, and provides timely updates to dispatch and relevant teams regarding delays, incidents, and delivery status. Additional duties include keeping the vehicle clean and organized, using equipment properly, adhering to all safety practices (including PPE and safe driving behaviors), and communicating professionally with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers while ensuring all deliveries are completed as scheduled.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for operating a dump truck
- Ability to safely operate a commercial dump truck in compliance with DOT and company safety policies
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements for commercial vehicle operation
- Ability to perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document inspection results
- Ability to promptly report vehicle defects, safety issues, and maintenance needs
- Experience or ability to load, secure, and unload materials using required safety procedures
- Ability to follow assigned route plans and delivery schedules from dispatch
- Ability to verify delivery details, including quantities, documentation, and delivery locations
- Ability to maintain accurate driver logs and complete required paperwork (e.g., manifests and inspection records)
- Ability to provide timely updates to dispatch and relevant teams regarding delays, incidents, and delivery status

- Complete thorough pre-trip inspections before each shift and post-trip inspections after each shift
- Document inspection results accurately and maintain required inspection records
- Promptly report any vehicle defects, safety issues, and maintenance needs to dispatch or the appropriate team
- Load, secure, and unload materials using required safety procedures and proper equipment operation
- Follow assigned route plans and delivery schedules provided by dispatch
- Verify delivery details including material quantities, documentation, and delivery locations before and after unloading
- Maintain accurate driver logs and complete all required paperwork, including manifests and other delivery/inspection documents
- Provide timely updates to dispatch and relevant teams regarding delivery status, delays, incidents, and any operational issues
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve delivery-related questions
- Ensure all deliveries are completed as scheduled and in accordance with job requirements
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized and ensure equipment is used properly throughout the shift
- Adhere to all safety practices, including wearing required PPE and following safe driving behaviors at all times
