High School Diploma or Equivalent

Must Pass the West Virginia Classification Test for Specific Area;
Must Pass a Background Check;
Must have or willing to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification;
Must have or be willing to obtain CDL

Our bus operators are a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students to and from school;
Strong communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to manage behavior effectively and ensure passenger safety during transit;
Familiar with local traffic laws, and safety regulations.

Safely operate school buses picking up and dropping off students along set bus routes according to traffic laws and company policies;
Ensure the safety of all passengers by following proper behavior management techniques and maintaining a vigilant driving style;
Maintain a clean bus and encourage students to respect and promote positive behaviors;
Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and colleagues to provide clear instructions and updates;
Assist children with boarding and disembarking, ensuring proper use of child safety seats or restraints when necessary;
Maintain accurate logs of routes, passenger counts, incidents, and vehicle maintenance reports;
Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents on the road by coordinating with emergency responders and reporting as required.

WV Salary Scale for Substitute Service Personnel Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
