Job Description
When a Soldier has a question about benefits, policy, or needs help with a sensitive issue, the Army National Guard’s Human Resources Specialist is the primary go-to person. As an HR Specialist, you will help Soldiers develop their Guard careers and provide personnel support and assistance to all divisions within the Guard.
Responsibilities- Organize, maintain, and review personnel records; data entry and retrieval; process recommendations; arrange awards ceremonies; prepare, update, and coordinate requests for evaluations.
- Prepare and monitor Soldier requests for and tags, leaves of absence, and passes; order and maintain office supplies; keep filing systems.
- Assist on all human resource support matters.
- Oversee all strength management and strength distribution actions.
- Ensure readiness, health, and welfare of all Soldiers.
- Provide postal and personnel accountability support.
- Maintain emergency notification data.
- Aptitude for business administration.
- Ability to follow detailed orders.
- Sound people skills.
Ten weeks of Basic Training plus nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training and on-the-job instruction covering typing skills, Army correspondence and forms, personnel record management, and computer update and retrieval procedures.
