This is a full-time, contract-to-hire position based in Utah. We’re looking for someone who understands performance-driven storytelling. Someone who knows how to build an emotional hook in the first 3 seconds, structure a message that holds attention, and write words that move people to take action. As a Video Ad Script Writer, you’ll be the messaging engine behind high-performing short-form ads across Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, and You Tube. You’ll take direction, brand knowledge, customer insight, and creative strategy and turn them into scroll-stopping ad scripts that convert. This is a high-impact role for someone who understands how to blend emotion, curiosity, and persuasion to drive action.
Responsibilities- Write scroll-stopping ad scripts daily, producing multiple scripts and variations per day designed to convert.
- Build hook, conflict, proof, emotional payoff, and CTA structure in short-form ads.
- Use performance data (hook rate, watch time, CTR, conversion efficiency) to adjust messaging.
- Generate new concepts, angles, and test frameworks at speed.
- Collaborate with video and media teams to align messaging with campaign direction and creative execution.
- Track and manage performance metrics (hook rate, watch-through rate, CTR, CPA, ROAS) and continuously improve them.
- Stay ahead of creative trends in automotive, DTC, creator, and UGC spaces.
- Pitch new big ideas weekly and contribute to content strategy.
- 2+ years of experience writing short-form direct-response scripts for eCommerce or high-volume social content.
- Strong understanding of messaging psychology – tension, stakes, identity, desire, and payoff.
- Ability to craft compelling hooks, narratives, and clear calls-to-action within 30 seconds.
- Data‑driven mindset: interpret engagement and conversion metrics to refine scripts.
- Experience working with multiple campaigns and generating variation at scale.
- Excellent written communication and ability to explain creative choices.
- Persistent, self‑motivated, and adaptable to shifting trends and platforms.
