We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team. In this fast‑paced role, you will provide critical support to veterinarians during emergency procedures, ensure the well‑being of patients, and communicate effectively with pet owners during high‑stress situations. This position requires a strong ability to prioritize, multitask, and deliver exceptional patient care in an emergency setting.
Key Responsibilities- Triage incoming patients to determine the urgency of their conditions.
- Monitor and assess the vital signs of patients, providing stabilization and immediate care as directed.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and other treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Assist in diagnostic procedures, including radiology, ultrasonography, and laboratory testing.
- Prepare and maintain equipment and treatment areas for emergency procedures.
- Assist veterinarians during surgeries and critical interventions, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and readily available.
- Collect samples for laboratory testing, including blood draws and cytology samples.
- Place IV catheters, perform wound care, and assist in resuscitation efforts when necessary.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a veterinary setting, with prior emergency or critical care experience preferred.
- Proficiency in handling and restraining animals, as well as operating diagnostic and monitoring equipment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments with exposure to emergency situations.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as emergencies occur 24/7.
