Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Grader Operator to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a motor grader to spread and level dirt, gravel, and other materials for highway, road, and site preparation projects. If you have a sharp eye for grade, a strong commitment to safety, and take pride in precision work, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities- Precision Grading:
Operate motor graders (finish grade and rough grade) to achieve precise specifications for roads, pads, and drainage. - GPS Utilization:
Utilize and interpret GPS grade‑control systems (Topcon, Trimble, etc.) to ensure accuracy. - Equipment Maintenance:
Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections; perform basic preventative maintenance (greasing, checking fluids) and report defects. - Site Safety:
Adhere to all OSHA and company safety regulations; work closely with ground crews, grade checkers, and other operators. - Versatility:
Assist with other job site duties and operate secondary equipment (dozers, excavators, or rollers) when needed.
- Experience:
Minimum of 1-5 years of experience specifically operating a motor grader in heavy civil, highway, or commercial site prep. - Technical
Skills:
Strong understanding of finish grade work, blueprints, stakes, and grade lasers/GPS systems. - Certifications:
Valid Driver’s License required; CDL is a major plus. - Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions, sit for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs. - Attributes:
Strong work ethic, reliability, and excellent communication skills.
