Position: 91J Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer

Overview

The Army National Guard uses a wide range of systems that help protect and serve the force. As a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer, you’ll be in charge of keeping those systems running at peak performance.

Responsibilities
  • Service on internal combustion engine ignition, fuel, cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Perform damage assessment and repair of chemical decontamination equipment, quartermaster machinery, laundry and bath equipment, pumps, engines, burners, filter units, water purification units, and other special purpose equipment.
  • Maintain special purpose equipment, decontamination and protective filter systems, smoke generator systems, and chemical electrical systems.
Skills You’ll Learn
  • Internal combustion engine theory.
  • Marine engine maintenance and repair, internal combustion engine theory, and use and care of hand and power tools.
Helpful Skills
  • Interest in shop mechanics, fixing engines, and machinery.
Training & Pay

After a 10‑week Basic Training, you will attend 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) that includes hands‑on and classroom training.

You will learn valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. You may qualify for MOS assignment as per availability.

Requirements
