Job Title:
Machining Engineer
This role initially involves spending 50% of the time on the shop floor and 50% on programming or office work. Over time, it will evolve into managing larger projects and developing new processes, due to a promotion to supervisor of process engineering.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with quality, production, and other engineering departments.
- Develop and troubleshoot complex CNC machining processes.
- Utilize CAM software, with preference for Solid
CAM and Solid Works, to enhance machining operations. - Contribute to plant support initiatives while gradually shifting focus to larger projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in CNC machining process engineering or CNC programming.
- Strong experience with CAM software, specifically Solid
CAM preferred;
Solid Works experience required. - Advanced understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Swiss-style CNC programming.
- Experience supporting new product introduction or process validation.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in high-volume or precision manufacturing environments.
Working hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with potential quarterly Saturday work planned in advance. The facility has 100 employees, and the role involves collaboration with various departments. The manufacturing and machining areas may expose workers to oil, coolant, and metal residue. Although Bluffton Motor Works is a union shop, this does not directly affect the engineer's duties, which primarily involve floor work and machinery.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
