Seeking a Staff Accountant for a small, local public accounting firm located in Mount Pleasant. who will provide client accounting services, financial statement preparation, and tax return preparation.
Responsibilities- Assist in maintaining the general ledger and preparing journal entries.
- Participate in audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare tax returns and related documents.
- Prepare audit work papers and documentation in accordance with firm standards.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and other relevant accounting standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in tax and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
