Job DescriptionA family is seeking a reliable, energetic, and experienced nanny to care for their two young children, including a newborn baby boy due in April and a 5-year-old boy. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, responsible, and highly engaging, with a strong focus on safety, fun, and playful interaction. Primary responsibilities include caring for the newborn by assisting with feeding routines, diapering, soothing, and maintaining a consistent daily schedule.
The parents plan to nurse but may supplement as needed, and the nanny should be comfortable supporting whichever feeding routine works best for the family. The nanny will also engage the 5-year-old in age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, learning, and play. He attends elementary school and an after school program, so after-school pickup is typically not required, though flexibility to help occasionally is appreciated.
The nanny may also prepare simple meals and snacks for the children and, if bilingual, the family would love for a second language to be incorporated naturally into daily interactions.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining organization and cleanliness in the children’s spaces, managing children’s laundry, restocking diapers and wipes, and handling other child-related household tasks. The family is looking for someone energetic who can actively engage with the baby and children on their level, including getting on the floor to play and interact. They travel two to three times per year and would appreciate a nanny who is open to occasional travel, as well as assisting with house sitting and basic dog care, such as feeding and walking the dogs while they are away.
Overall, the family hopes to find a mature, dependable caregiver who communicates proactively, reinforces good values, and creates a safe, loving, and engaging environment for their children.
