Job Description
We are looking for a Middle School STEM teacher who will provide students with a rigorous and relevant Science/Technology/Engineering/Math (STEM) education.
Position PurposeThe Middle School STEM teacher provides students with a rigorous and relevant STEM education. The teacher is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all students within his/her teaching assignment.
Essential Functions- Ensure students gain skills in problem‑solving, communication, collaboration, critical‑thinking, and creativity.
- Help students focus on solving real‑world problems and use the design process to “think like an engineer”.
- Facilitate student learning, use data to plan, organize and set goals.
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Teach to the South Carolina PLTW Gateway Standards, including various software applications and PLTW’s learning management system.
- Facilitate career planning opportunities in STEM occupations for students.
Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent or other district office administrators.
Qualifications- Baccalaureate degree and current certification in a Career & Technology, Math and/or Science discipline.
- Current license to teach Project Lead the Way or eligibility for a South Carolina PLTW Endorsement after successful completion of the designated courses.
- Minimum of two years of work experience in an engineering‑related field preferred.
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
The position requires ability to lift items, sit, stand, walk for required periods, speak and hear, use close vision, and communicate effectively in English. Candidates may also have to use American Sign Language or Braille. Reach and use hands and fingers to handle objects, operate tools, technology equipment, computers, and/or controls.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Follow all district policies, work procedures, and reasonable requests from proper authorities. Adhere to confidentiality as directed by federal, state, local laws, and regulations. Failure to adhere may result in disciplinary action.
