Position:
Tier 1 Automotive
- Stamping & Welding Engineer at Strategic Systems in Bluffton, United States.
- Support daily stamping and welding operations to improve quality, throughput, and safety.
- Troubleshoot production issues involving tooling, dies, weld parameters, fixtures, and equipment.
- Optimize stamping and welding processes for new and existing parts.
- Lead root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce scrap and downtime.
- Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and tool & die teams.
- Support new launches, engineering changes, and process documentation.
- Contribute to automation, continuous improvement, and capital equipment projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in stamping, welding, or metal fabrication.
- Tier 1 automotive and IATF 16949 experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of stamping dies, MIG/resistance/robotic welding, tooling, and GD&T.
- Experience with problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and process optimization.
- Familiarity with PFMEA, control plans, and other IATF/APQP documentation.
- Strong communication skills and a hands‑on approach on the production floor.
- Fast‑track path to leadership.
- High visibility with operations, engineering, and plant leadership.
