SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, provides professional knowledge for project development, design and permitting of all BJWSA private development related projects. Coordinates activities to ensure all projects are designed, permitted, and delivered in a timely manner.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provides management and assistance for all BJWSA land development or capital improvement projects. Uses independent judgment to ensure projects are developed, designed and permitted in a timely and cost effective manner. Coordinates projects with Federal & State regulatory agencies, as applicable.
- Responsible for the completion, submission, and review of various required documents including new project status/progress requests, progress reports, plans, specifications, technical reports, and purchase orders.
- Uses experience and discretion as a representative of the Authority at various public committee meetings, related groups, and governmental agencies in the development of assigned projects.
- Maintains up-to-date files and updated technical manuals.
- Works with the appropriate local government agencies to provide the technical support for all grant-funded projects, when required.
- Receives, considers, and responds in a professional manner to customers, vendors and, suppliers.
- Assists in the mapping efforts and provides technical support for mapping systems and activities
- Operates and utilizes related equipment and machinery to include a copier, plotter, computer, printer, etc.
- Performs other duties as required within the scope of responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
Requires a bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering or related field. Must possess experience working with various computer applications and the ability to use BJWSA-specific software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training license, preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, structural or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people or things.

Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information. Includes giving assignments and/or directions to subordinates and receiving assignments and/or directions from supervisor.
Language Ability :
Requires ability to read a variety of codes, regulations, policy and procedure manuals, maps, construction drawings, work orders, etc. Requires the ability to prepare routine reports, performance appraisals, records, etc. with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech. Requires the ability to speak with and before others with clarity, voice control and confidence.
Intelligence :
Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.
