Job Summary

Under the direction of the Nursing Director or Supervisor, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for the care of postpartum mother/baby combinations or other clinical care duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Incorporate knowledge of patient's age-specific development and cultural values into the plan of care.
  • Contribute to quality nursing care through process improvement techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Supervise students as directed by the area supervisor, ensuring the primary caregiver is available to the student throughout the shift if necessary.
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitative Care certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Employee must hold the same RN licensure or have completed the training required for the discipline of any students supervised.
