Business Development Manager
Location: Greenville, SC (Preferred) | Bluffton, SC or Charlotte, NC considered
Schedule: Full-Time (40+ hours/week)
Work Environment: Hybrid | Minimum three days per week in a coworking or office environment
Travel: Approximately 4-6 overnight trips per month
Compensation: $70,000 Base Salary + Performance Incentives (Target First-Year Earnings of $100,000+)
About the OpportunityOur client is a nationally recognized business coaching and consulting firm dedicated to helping construction business owners build stronger companies through proven systems, leadership development, and operational excellence.
As they continue to grow, they are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to become the driving force behind new client acquisition and strategic relationship development.
This is not a high-volume cold calling or transactional sales position. Instead, you'll build meaningful partnerships, cultivate referral relationships, manage warm opportunities, represent the company at industry events, and ensure every opportunity receives exceptional follow-up.

What You'll DoAs the Business Development Manager, you'll own the company's business development pipeline from initial relationship through signed client.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with referral partners, industry associations, business owners, and professional organizations.
- Develop new business opportunities through networking, partnerships, referrals, and industry events.
- Manage and nurture warm leads through consistent, proactive follow-up.
- Own and maintain the CRM, ensuring every lead, opportunity, and next step is accurately documented.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, Build Expos, speaking engagements, and networking events.
- Coordinate event preparation, lead capture, and post-event follow-up campaigns.
- Collaborate with marketing to execute lead generation initiatives and promotional campaigns.
- Track pipeline performance, conversion metrics, and weekly business development activity.
- Support company-wide client retention initiatives alongside the coaching team.
- Identify new partnership opportunities that expand the company's reach and generate long-term growth.
Successful candidates will:
- Build strong referral and strategic partner relationships.
- Consistently generate qualified new business opportunities.
- Ensure no opportunity falls through the cracks because of missed follow-up.
- Keep CRM data organized, accurate, and actionable.
- Become a trusted extension of the founder's business development efforts.
- Contribute to both company growth and long-term client success.
The ideal candidate is naturally persistent, relationship-focused, highly organized, and comfortable creating opportunities through authentic relationship building.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of business development, account management, partnership development, client success, or relationship management experience.
- Demonstrated success generating new business through networking, referrals, and strategic relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow-through.
- Experience working within a CRM platform.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel approximately 4-6 nights per month.
- Experience with in consulting, professional services, construction, or the AEC industry.
- Experience coordinating conferences, networking, events, or speaking engagements.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Go High Level , Hub Spot, Salesforce, or similar.
- Public speaking or presentation experience.
