Security Officer

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at the Colleton River Club. The role requires providing exceptional service and ensuring the safety of members, guests, employees, and assets in an upscale environment.

Typical Day
  • Patrol club property, facilities, and perimeter by vehicle and foot.
  • Monitor and control access to the community, verify resident decals, guest passes, visitor registrations, and contractor authorizations.
  • Verify and process unregistered visitors, issue authorized passes, maintain accurate visitor and gate logs.
  • Maintain required security logs: gate activity, patrol, package receipt, incident reports.
  • Respond to emergencies and non-emergency situations: alarm activations, traffic accidents, criminal or suspicious activity, medical emergencies, wildlife incidents, service calls.
  • Enforce state and local laws and club regulations.
  • Issue citations and provide warnings when appropriate; assist local law enforcement.
  • Serve as communication liaison between gate operations and patrol officers.
  • Conduct routine house checks, building inspections, and security escorts.
  • Accept, log, secure, and distribute packages per procedures.
  • Operate mobile and stationary radar equipment to monitor vehicle speeds.
  • Provide backup and support to fellow officers as necessary.
  • Prepare, complete, and submit incident reports and daily activity reports.
  • Perform duties unarmed, maintaining a professional, service-oriented presence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
  • Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Crawl, crouch, climb stairs, kneel, run, sit, stand, stoop, walk for extended periods.

Pay Rate

$20.00 per hour.

Key Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Must be SLED certified or eligible for certification, which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certified or ability to become certified.
Other Requirements
  • Comprehend and learn tasks associated with security.
  • Understand South Carolina law.
  • Operate patrol truck.
  • Monitor video and alarms.
  • Enforce laws and policies as directed.
  • Collaborate with other security officers, law enforcement, and emergency services.
  • Check for and report safety hazards.
  • Answer all calls promptly and professionally.
